Q: There are so many belt types out there and I also have lots of them at home. What is cool to wear this season and where can I find them?

Yes, I suppose this is a tough thing, shops are full of all sorts of belts and this sometimes makes things harder. Too many choices confuse us even if we are fashionistas :). I put together some looks with the most essential belt types and when you should wear them.

I. Skinny belts

Pair skinny belts with loose tops or dresses to get a more structured look. Versace used them in this season’s RTW collection accessorizing them with the same color apparel. You can even wear more than one belt but they should be similar to go together.

High-waisted skirts can also be worn with this type of belts and even some jean types. Don’t rely too much on the skinny belt, however, because it usually has an aesthetic look. When worn low the skinny belt gives you different looks you can sport. You can find outfit examples here : Skinny belt outfits.

II. Bows

Bows can easily highlight any outfit and especially a simple one. Wear the bow belt over a loose top or with a high-waisted skirt. You can wear the bow at your back to make it sexier . This way you’ll still have a balanced outfit. You can accessorize a headband and wear bow in your hair but a subtle one, it is really important not to over-bow the outfit.

III. Antique leather trend

The antique leather trend is really popular this season. Hermes dazzled us in his S/S RTW Collection on the runway with this western inspired colors and details. Brown leather belts can be wider and worn almost with everything. Despite the bow belts which are more suitable for an evening look, these belts are perfect for daytime casual outfits.

IV. Wide belts

Wide belts are perfect if you want to get the cinched waist look. You can wear them with over-sized cardigans , summer dresses and even simple tanks. Wider belts have the advantage of making you look slimmer and giving you a slightly narrower look to your waist.

V. Neon belts

Neon belts are perfect this summer if you want to highlight your outfit. You should match it with some hair accessories or the print on your tee/skirt. Wear bold colored belts with jeans and neon flats or with other coordinating accessories.

VI. Studded belts

Studded belts are so hot since Carrie wore one in Sex And The City and they really give a rock twist to your outfit. You can pair studds with a flowing dress and a leather jacket or with a studded bracelet or clutch. For more studded accessories check out : Accessory Trends 2008-2009

The Wowen or Braided Belt style is one of my favorites but now it’s becoming more and more popular with the global trend. They look really good with floral printed dresses and you can wear woven belts with a tunic or vintage lealther boots. Western inspired accessories also include the fringed bag and the triangle scarf, so get creative!

VII. Hot summer belts

Hot summer belts focus on sequins, jeans, zebra prints belts , heart/star shaped buckles or chain belts. Future summer outfits available soon!

JoAnna Garcia plays the lovely Megan Smith in Privileged Tv series. Stylistically speaking she is not very complex but she has that sort of casual chic style that can bring up her personality. What I really noticed about her outfits was that the main focus is set on jeans and cardigans. I’ve watched carefully and I think she has cardigans in every colour!!

The jeans are usually dark and skinny but you can adapt them to your personal style. If you hate skinnies or you’re tired of them your can always go for flared ones. These are from Pacsun.com.

The cardigan can be embellished or simple and usually Megan wears them unbuttoned. Pick a longer one if you like the ruffled cardigan trend. This one is actually soldout on Forever21 but I found a new sequined cardigan.

Ballet flats are summer’s hot list items. Bold colors are really cool this season so what are you waiting for and wear your navy or pink flats. These are H&M but there are lots of flats out there that can work just try to keep them one color.

The bag is more of a functional thing for Megan so try to add something that highlights your outfit. I loved Karen Millen’s Tropical Bag because it’s perfect for this season and has the perfect mix of fabrics.

Jewelry is not so important for Megan but I noticed that she has a very simple and soft feather necklace. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to fing something similar but you can try anything vintage with a little charm pendant.

The skirtmust be high-waisted and you can choose from different trendy patterns of the season (florals, water collors) mixed with a tight tank. I’ve seen Megan with different color tanks (white, black, pink) and I can say that the simple top really gives her a comfy and sexy look.

The cardigan is a statement piece for the Privileged star so get comfy and romantic with this Shrug Knit.

The accessories complete the casual look so you can choose some leather strap detail flats that can be found at Boden or some beige sunglasses. I just loved the color of this leather tote and the fact that it kinda matches everything! You can wear a small bracelet or a watch, this one is from Gwen Stefani’s collection and it’s called The Sweet Escape.

I recently came across CWtv’s hot series Privileged and I absolutely loved it! I find myself laughing and living every second of it. But besides the story and the drama, the style of the characters is amazing. Rose and Sage Baker played by Lucy Hale and Ashley Newbrough are the perfect fashionistas, so glamorous even when going to school. Joanna Garcia plays the role of Megan Smith and manages to enchant us with her  casual chic outfits and especially with her tutor-girl attitude.

The show is not as focussed on socialite life as Gossip Girl and has more of an L.A. relaxed apraoch on lifestyle and fashion. But still, I love the clothes and all the outfits are amazing!

Rose wears neons and metallics almost every time. She has a playful personality and she can usually pull off short tops or really short skirts. To get her look choose a strapless dress and some shinny heels. Accessories are really a big deal and be sure to wear a glamorous headband and maybe lots of jewelry.

Sage Baker brings a more tense style to Privileged. Although, she still rocks a spoiled rich girl look, Sage is more confident and diva like so she ditches heavy accessories and usually chooses a few statement pieces. If you like her look, choose bold colored stilettos and exatravagant headbands. I’ve seen her dressed in skinny jeans and cropped preppy blazers and they both work great.

To get a super chic and sexy look by wearing these shredded jeans you can start by wearing some amazing heels and a cool cruise collection top.

The shoes -  These golden peep toes will turn all the eyes on you. Love the semi-bow, though I think they duplicated the same shoe in the picture. :))

The top - This is not a boring outfit! The giraffe style cami is so sexy and light and it kind of makes you dream of summer and tanned skin.

The jeans - TheStraight Leg Distressed Jean from BEBE go perfectly with the golden peep toes. Wear them as a girls night out outfit or when you go out with your boyfriend. They’ll do the trick in both cases.

The accessories- Hope you like golden vibes because this summer it’s all about  shining. Keep it cool with a trendy Glitter Beret from Coach and some feather earrings. If this is a daytime outfit, choose a medium-sized tote. I love this Faux Leather Convertible Bag because it has this unusual jeans color, it’s perfect!

I left my favourite outfit last because I really wanted to admire it some more. It has everything : the heels, the glam, the plaid… it’s a rock chic outfit you can have fun with. Accessories are the most important so I’ll start there.

The accessories - Have to share one main color, don’t know why but this ballances the whole outfit. Usually you shouldn’t mind the shirt when choosing some shoes, but I really like these black fringe booties.You can bend the jeans so that some skin shows just above your ankle, this is really sexy.  The guitar pendant is Marc Jacobs and is actually a small guitar watch. However, you should try to find cheaper, vintage items that do the same trick. Lots of celebrities wear vintage and even cheap clothes.

The vest - I don’t know why vests remind me of The Jonas brothers :)) I know it sounds stupid but I can’t figure out why. Anyway this vest comes from Forever21 and it’s only $17,8 !! Really cheap and chic.

The shirt - You can find this shirt on any Gossip Girl epissode :) I was just kidding, but they still have an obsesion with plaids ! Anyway this Buffalo Plaid Shirt is a good season investment as anyone is now wearing it.

Hey girls! Today’s question is what would you go for when wearing the destroyed jeans trend. I love them with flats but I can’t stop staring at the heels.

Well, I think it depends on where you are going. For example, if you are on a shopping spree or you have a long day around town, you need to have something really comfy on or you’ll end up with painful legs.

The shoes - The patent ballet flats  are still cool this season. Navyis really stylish and it goes perfectly with lighter jeans. Love the little bow. (available on SimplyShoes.com )

The jeans - Straight, light distressed jeans for a casual look. You can bend them above the ankle to get the look of Katie Holmes or Sienna Miller.

The top- Pink-ish and nude shades are really hot this season so make sure you have them in your closet. Get 1 size larger top for extra glam.

The accessories - Go for golden tones and a nude tote if you want to ballance the whole outfit. You can also add some highlights with black bangles or a skinny belt. 

For a smarter casual look pick coordinating accessories and keep your jeans darker. You can choose a blazer to highlight your style and waist as well as a tucked in top.

The shoes - Iridescent Pink Ruffle Flats from Monsoon make you feel very chic and the ruffles are so hot this season. 

The jeans - These Skinny Loved Jean are some darker jeans that I love and they are just perfect to go out and enjoy a movie or a casual meeting. You can find them at La Garconne

The top - I love the embroidery on this Lace Cropped Top, it’s special and lace is really cool right now. This one is from Topshop.

The Blazer - I really like this piece. It’s sort of on my wishlist. Calvin Klein Meghan cropped tuxedo has a really gracious style, makes you feel dressed up and sexy.

Tomorow, Sexy jeans outfits!

The jeans or jean how they are recently called, are making a casual comeback this year. Colors get lighter and acid washed and we start having fun with them. Their shape varies from skinny, flare or wide legged.

The chopped, ripped, shredded or torn jeans are really popular this season. Celebrities love them and embraced them since last year, for exmple Lauren Conrad wears a skinny pair of Siwy’s. To get the look be careful not to become scruffy wearing them, so mix them with a cool clean shirt or Tee.  True Religion Joey flared jeans are really great and they have quite a flattering shape. Think I’m gonna buy a pair even though I’m a big skinny jeans fan :)

Victoria Beackam wears casual jeans !? I never thought I would see this. However, the boyfriend jeans trend is rising high this season and you’d probably want to keep an eye on this trend. You can wear them with flats or heels and they’re perfect during the day or at night on the town. I love the Ripped Bleach Wash Boyfriend Jean from ASOS because they look perfect with a tucked in shirt. The Current/ Elliott Boyfriend jeans make a casual statement when worn with a plaid shirt and a slim blazer.

Spring is knocking with fresh ideas and sexy outfits. One thing particularly caught my attention because of the retro glam feel it has. You’ve guessed! It’s the sexy jumpsuit.  You can either wear it draped or strapless or even belted. It comes as a wonderful choice to a night around town or even as a daytime outfit mixed with more casual accessories.  Don’t be afraid to experiment and try wearing a jumpsuit, you’ll just love it!

I was very impressed to see how they changed Gossip Girl gorgeous Blake Lively in this month’s cover of Vogue.  Many people were not happy about this but I think we should give Blake some credit.

She looks so … powerful!! I think that men-destined outfits tend to make you feel like that. The tuxedo is one of Blake’s favourite pieces, it gives the preppy look a new thing and it follows the line of her body. McQ’s tuxedo style jumpsuit from N-A-P brings out the vintage glam look  in a tuxedo outfit. It’s sexy, but still very poweful. The Open Front Blazer from F21 looks exacly like an Upper East Side must have.
