How to use celebrity style to inspire your own

Everyday we’re exposed to photos of celebrities at the latest events and bar openings, or even just popping out to the shops. As much as it can be tiresome to keep seeing celebrities parading around in their finery, they can also be a used as a source of style inspiration.

Celebrity style may appear out of reach to us as they have access to all the best high-end designers. However, there are many high-street and online alternatives available that look just as good but are kinder to your bank balance.

Fashion is about experimenting and should be enjoyable. If you continue with the same ‘safe’ look day in day out you’ll soon get bored. Flicking through glossy magazines is a great way to inspire you, and by doing so, you’ll be able to have a rough idea of what you’re after before you even hit the shops or load up your computer.

When choosing a comfortable daytime outfit, it’s easy to go for the safe option of jeans and a jumper. This can look stylish if the jeans are a good fit and the jumper is the latest colour or pattern. However, why not try a dress and some ballet pumps? Dresses can be casual and they’re a great basic to throw on. They also look like you’ve made more of an effort than you actually have. Fearne Cotton is a great example of someone who can style up a dress with a great bag, statement jewellery or even just some cute shoes.

Bank stock a great range of casual dresses for all shapes and sizes. Be sure to try on a range of styles, as different cuts will suit different people. Bank Fashion is aimed at women who want to be on trend and look stylish but need something that is practical and comfortable – a perfect combination for the modern woman!

Celebrities on the red carpet can also give you style inspiration and will help you identify what should be in your own wardrobe for big events or nights out. Draw inspiration from colour, material or cut. If you take note of what you like, you’re sure to find something similar in your local high-street shops. Celebrities from TV shows such as The Only Way is Essex are usually spotted wearing high street dresses to their red carpet bashes, and pop stars like Pixie Lott who have their own range with high street fashion brands are ideal inspiration when trying to find a great evening look.

If it’s evening dresses you’re looking for, then Bank should be your first point of call. Their dresses always represent the latest trends and have a glamorous look and feel about them. They stock something for everyone; styles with long sleeves if you’re conscious of your arms, mini and maxi for all heights as well as a wide range of colours to suit all skin tones. The range of brands they stock mean you don’t have to go traipsing around lots of stores and should be able to find whatever you need under their one roof.

Don’t be put off by all the paparazzi images we’re bombarded with everyday – put them to good use and get your creative fashion juices by thinking about how you can imitate their style.
