I love the entire silk dress + leather jacket mix. I think it’s perfect to drift into the night extravaganza. The jacket is from Bershka, my dress is from ZARA and so are the shoes. I can’t remember what bracelets I had worn, but you can go for something statement. I think it suits the outfit even better.

I just love these colors, they are so fresh and alive, so mouth-watering! In fact, the citron print has been very popular on the runways as well. Brands such as Moschino Cheap & Chic or Day Birger and Mikkelsen pioneered the colors and also the lemon prints in their summer 2011 collections and since then, it has all bloomed. Or, so to say…the lemon has been squeezed :)
I think orange, yellow, lime or bright orange are the star colors of the summer season, besides the white and coral, of course. I really love Blake Lively’s outfit in her Glamour photo-shooting, soft white and orange is a perfect mix, so very feminine and fresh. I think this goes for the electric yellow dress which resonates so well with the bright summer sun.
Jamie Chung Lexington and Olivia Palermo wearing the signature citrus shades. You can get more inspiration from the citrus palette. Fun right?
As a general style rule, I would wear these citron shades with neutrals, so white and beige for a classy effect, however if you try brights in the evening you can most definitely choose a second bold accent such as electric blue, fuchsia or even gold - like in Brittany Snow’s outfit.
Tonight I’ve been getting up to speed with some of my favorite and neglected Tv-shows such as Vampire Diaries, Love Bites and Gossip Girl. The last one is nevertheless huge fun and crazy outfit inspiration!I am not into the entire bitchiness scenarios and all the intrigues, however the clothes do make the show! :D
The entire “Dress like you are going to meet your worst enemy” approach really works for me. No matter how hard your day was or how disappointing your friends may have been, it’s the getting up and being strong that prevails. It’s a bit dramatic to think about it this way, but at the end of the day you are what you wear … :-)
The Green Maxi Dress together with the entire beach ensemble makes me dream of resort collections and faraway islands. Pair your maxi with nice gladiator sandals and a boho straw hat for a perfect mix..
Ruffles and florals. What more can I say ?! Love the brown leather in this combo and don’t forget about a touch of sensual : loose hair, transparent lip-gloss.

I really love this festival, nomad outfit that Blake is wearing. Not quite a maxi skirt but something in the likes of it: the layered outfit. Paired with a one-piece bathing suite / leotard and a casual jacket + sandals, the look can be quite stunning for a summer concert, festival or at the beach. But be careful S, for you might turn some heads in the city looking like this :-)
Vanessa keeps it boho-chic and print-friendly. All her outfits are eclectic and share this open vision towards fashion. The mix between high and low is maybe the best for her character, for she does not quite afford the high-maintenance life that others are living. So she goes for layering, being creative and trying versatile items and accessories. Extra chic points for the clogs, fringe details and the jeans vest.

Summer 2011 is no different and as it’s looking like a hot one, it could be that skirts are practical for longer. The basics of skirts tend not to change too much throughout the seasons, but it’s the material that tends to change over the seasons. So what is going to be hot, or rather keeping us cool, this summer 2011?
One of the hottest materials for skirts this year is lace. No it’s not a brand new trend, but as with all styles that span across seasons it has evolved. This season it has turned back to its classic roots and is about stand out pieces on skirts rather than an all over material. Following hot on the heels of lace are the 70’s materials of crochet and macramé.
This revival of materials is perfect for those with a love of all things nautical, French Riviera and retro. The open weaves make them perfect for beachwear and are a breezy style that helps keep the heat away on those long summer days. Sometimes it all comes down to the detailing and the next large trend picks up on this. With every season colours as well as materials are important, this season look out for skirts with floral patterns and blend in with the blooming flowers!
This week was practically insane! Besides work and fighting a cold, I had to really work hard for a school project. It was actually my master’s paper which I had to turn in on Thursday. I forgot how mind and time consuming this really is :)) As everything needed to be played by the rules and written 100% academically, it was quite challenging to keep the deadline. At least the topic was cool! Obviously my master’s paper was about fashion and fashion blogging! :-)
Anyway, so now that this is done, I really feel the need to contemplate and relax. Suddenly, I feel I have all this time and this weekend I am going to take advantage of it! :-) I have made the ultimate weekend recipe.
It goes like this…
3 Cups Relaxation - Favorite books and magazines I’ve ignored as I had to read school books. Also here add a dash of lounge music to get the movie scene picture and some pretty flowers to add some smiles and flavor to your room! :)
2 Spoons Sleep - Nothing better than cuddling in fluffy pillows and taking a nap. I really have to get some sleep done after 3 sleepless night this past week. So no clubbing this weekend :)) Maybe just cocktails with my friends and in bed by 12!
2 Tablespoon Pampering - Get out those new body lotions and mix them well! You can also add a sprinkle of your favorite perfume or some tanning at the beach or by the pool.
2 Teaspoons Sexy Lingerie - women’s underwear should be all about this, at least in the weekends! Go shopping and try some of the coolest summer must haves. Go for bold colors, I suggest coral :)
1 Pint Social - Try a girls only tasting session. Get good sweets, cut them in small bits, add a pinch of champagne and mix with girls’ talk!
Finally, for a finishing touch, put on a chic dress and your statement shoes and prepare to be admired! I wish you the perfect weekend!

Imagine just washing your hair and easily making it look stunning by using simple, healthy products that can get you out the door faster than ever. Reality is that this doesn’t always happen so nicely. I am probably like you in this area, getting all my gadgets out and trying to make them work: straightening with one, curling with another, stacking combs and pins for a nice hairdo… Oh the joy! Seems like a banquet every time, and it takes ages…:)) Summer should be more relaxed! You don’t have time to wait for your hair to dry, you need faster and better results.
I like that newer straighteners give you the option of making other types of hair-styles as well, you can create these loose curly styles or soft wavy hair so fast, take for example Michael Kors or Proenza Schouler, but many other designers who have worked the look for the summer collections.
I’ve been on the lookout for a really good straightener for a while now and I was so happy to find something different and innovative. What I love the most about the ghd straighteners is that they are thin and versatile, so you can use them not only to straighten your hair… not to mention that they look so slick and stylish ;-)
I’ve been browsing their cool fairytale website all day :)) It’s stacked with videos and tutorials where you can get inspired from and try yourself even if you have short or longer hair or you like a different style such as bohemian, glamorous or sexy & messy hairstyles.
Usually around summertime I realize that everybody is wearing tons of accessories and jewelry so I instinctively want to go for something else. I feel the need to go minimal and have maybe one or two cool and statement pieces that would just differentiate from all the plastic out there ;-) A nice one can be one of these wathces.
I’ve found all these cool ones on ShopNBC, they have a wide selection and I saw that they are actively posting about their great offers and styles on their social media channels. I am a fan of their Facebook ShopNBC page but I saw that they also have a Twitter ShopNBC profile and a YouTube ShopNBC channel.
Anyway, I am pretty undecided at the moment, I really like all of them :)) but thinking about it, I guess I’ll go for black and the black Michael Kors one! :)
When creating an outfit I am all about balance. Even if you decide to go statement on some pieces you need to take in account that the other side of the outfit needs to be dressed down otherwise it might be a bit too much. There are some simple rules to apply this technique.
My favorite look is to pair basic, minimalist pieces with cool statement accessories. This goes practically for any type of accessories, from bold shoes, neon bags or some stunning chunky necklaces. This type of look can definitely make heads turn if you decide to enhance a simple casual outfit. Try it with basic pieces such as white t-shirts or tanks, nude tops, jeans or color-block pieces.
I totally love the look on elegant pieces as well because it makes them slightly edgier. I would definitely wear a chunky necklace with an evening dress and with a leather jacket. I think this look is very popular among celebrities and fashion insiders and you can get inspired from so many street-style blogs.
You can find amazing jewellery out there, but the key is to wear them separately and don’t layer them as the outfit may become too flashy. I really like this metal cuff I found on Very.co.uk and the chunky necklaces from Lipsy and French Connection. What do you think, aren’t they fab? ;-)
